tsf credit card tactical folder
The Subcom done right.
The subcom is an extremely popular knife by Boker but has lower end quality. The CCT by Three Sisters Forge is a refined version made of the highest quality manufacturing. Hardened 440c stainless hardware with a waterjet pattern Titanium handle. CPM 154cm steel blade that's cryo & triple tempered (using Peter's Heat Treat which is R59-61 & laser tested for consistency) making it way above the average production knife steel quality. A carbidized lockbar face helps to preserve lockbar which is another custom knife touch.
The original design.
The story goes that Jim's wife wanted a folder made & he asked her what size. She said the size of a credit card. He took her words literally & came up with the CCT. The knife is one of his most popular models & is widely sought after by Law Enforcement for it's ability to fit inside gloves

corrosion resistance is not the same as rust resistance
Depicted here is a graph of showing that s30v is much more corrosion proof than metals such as d2 & 154cm even though the Chromium content is still roughly the same. The key thing to note is chromium provides rust resistance (stainless steel) while metals such as 154cm which include molybdenum provide more corrosion resistance. Because molybdenum (m) is a tool steel it provides other aspects beyond just stain resistance such as heat resistance & acidic/chemical resistance. Corrosion can happen many ways not just rust. The ability to withstand corrosive situations means that fe cpm154cm can be dry lubricated with graphite & withstand heat without having it's structural balance affected (meaning no areas will weaken or harden more than others)
Jim Allen prefers cpm 154cm over s30v.
Many knife experts such as Bob Terzuola along with Mr. Allen prefer cpm 154cm for it's versatility. The key thing to note is that cpm154cm has the same ability to withstand impacts when lengthwise along the blade but is 60& weaker than s30v laterally when receiving forces from the side (such as prying). This is more a concern when 154cm is used on larger knives but it should be noted that prying is not recommended. Cutting a can open is fine, popping a crate is not. All in all the steel is chosen for knives used in traditional cutting tasks that offers the benefit of being versatile in many environments while still being in the stainless category.

important note:
On some CCTs the screws are a little short so when reassembling the screws can strip the inner threading. You can contact Jim for replacement longer screws which will fix this problem. If you own one that you can detect this flaw it is better to request the screws immediately before trying to reassemble the knife. This is a personal note from Nepktuneknives-Dave
