//5p Review of Gerber EAB Lite
//CONCEPT
//A knife you can take anywhere in the world in your carry on that once you arrive you can replace the blade easily & the knife itself can be wrist flicked open/gravity open! Low cost, easy to replace, no nonsense thin slicing performance for real utility. //PERFORMANCE
//Razor blades dull quite easily but offer exact cutting performance when needed which is the most important. |
//CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN
//Construction takes a hit immediately on the paint that is used to cover the knife which flakes off over time. Underneath is a chrome steel that is highly reflective & slippery. The design of the EAB Lite has slits in the handle which help with gripping the knife when opening. //ROLE & APPLICATIONS

//FINAL IMPRESSIONS
//Despite the fact that it's not very robust or well made, the Gerber EAB Lite finds it's way into one of NK's top choices because it is the least conspicuous, portable, wrist flicking knife that you can carry internationally and on board a plane. The incentive that you don't have to sharpen the blade and instead you can switch it is not really the selling point, nor even the fact that the cutting blade geometry is that of a razor blade (compared to the better performing Cold Steel Tuff Lite), but rather that the blade can be removed & replaced for whatever reasons. This along with the cost makes the EAB one of the best utility small EDC knives available and why it's one of the knife industry's favorite options.
